Travelogues
“Nice, friendly hosts, pleasant, quiet environment. We also received a programme from the hosts, with a catalogue of things to do and see in the area. Children also had a great time, playing freely in the garden (ping-pong, foosball, badminton, etc.). We had a great time. Thank you! We recommend it to those who want peace and quiet and like the atmosphere of old farmhouses, e.g.: old wooden beamed ceilings, a buff oven, thick adobe walls, which in the summer heat makes it very pleasantly cold outside.”

“The hosts are very nice and friendly. We were fully informed about all the recreational options in the area. Brings what it describes in the description. For value for money, I have not found a better offer in Poroszló since. There is a very well equipped kitchen available, along with an excellent barbecue and fire pit for barbecuing in the garden, which saved us a lot as we didn't have to go to a restaurant, we could manage our own meals. Quiet location, but still close to everything.”
Judit
“The host was kind and helpful with everything. The farmhouse character of the accommodation is reminiscent of the village life of the past. It is cosy and pleasant to stay there!”

Sights
The Lake Tisza Ecocentre in Poroszló - a tourist visitor centre featuring mainly native animals - is a real attraction, which presents the natural treasures of Lake Tisza and the Tisza Valley in a fun, modern and interactive way, showing the rich fauna of Hungary's second largest lake.
More information and current offers: tiszataviokocentrum.hu
Lake Tisza is the second largest lake in Hungary, located in the northern part of the Great Plain. On its 127 km2, countless islands, backwaters and shallow channels alternate with vast open water areas, forming a characteristic mosaic landscape. Lake Tisza is the fourth showcase area of the Hortobágy National Park and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.
Lake Tisza Bird Reserve
It is an important resting place for birds migrating across Europe. A protected area, which can be visited with a guide.
Aranyosi bend, Sarudi Basin, Little Tisza
With the help of the Lake Tisza Hiking Centre Network, excursions can be organised and boats and bicycles can be hired. There are friendly harbours, guesthouses and pensions along the way. Boat-accessible birdwatching sites have been set up on the lake's smaller islands, close to the nesting sites, so you can study the birdlife during your water trips.
Sarudi Basin, Abádszalóki Bay, Tiszafüredi Basin
Not a protected area, it is a realm of water sports. It is the only designated area on a natural lake in Europe where motorised water sports can be practised.
The slowly deepening, rapidly warming shores of Lake Tisza offer pleasant relaxation and safe beaching, and the beaches of Lake Tisza are particularly ideal for families with young children. There are several well-designed outdoor beaches offering a variety of recreational opportunities.
Open beach on Lake Tisza in Poroszlo
The quiet, shallow-water beach is particularly recommended for those seeking a quiet holiday and families with children. The shady, grove-like beach is located in the central part of the settlement, at the entrance to the Tisza Lake Ecocentre No. 2, facing the event area.
Entrance to the beach is NOT free. Current admission fees are available at the beach entrance.
A few steps away there is a parking lot for up to several hundred cars and buses, where you can park your vehicle for a nominal fee. On the beach you can rent kayaks, canoes and water bikes. There is a buffet right on the beach, and a few steps away is the Tavirózsa Restaurant with covered terrace, popular with beach-goers for its excellent cuisine, fish soup and fish dishes.
This area near the beach is also the venue for the annual Csöröge Festival, with entertainment, pop music concerts and open-air disco.

The 2-3 metre-high dam surrounding Lake Tisza has an asphalt track (70 and 120 km), which runs in long and short circuits, and can be cycled around the entire lake.
The trail offers great views of the countryside, so you can cycle over islands, floodplain forests and beautiful water surfaces. The Eurovelo 11 international cycling route, which crosses Europe from Norway to Greece, runs along this route.
There is only a 1 metre difference in elevation to negotiate on the cycle paths, so you can take a short hike without any preparation. There are four ferry crossings across the lake, but you can also do a combined boat and bike ride, with boats available for hire at the marinas.
With 500 unified bike parks and an extensive service network across the region, you're sure to have an unforgettable experience in the heart of the country's flat countryside cycling!

At Lake Tisza, you can choose from a variety of hiking opportunities and routes all year round, exploring the countryside by boat, canoe or kayak, on foot, by bike or on horseback...
The primary ecotourism destination is the central region bordered by the Aranyosi Gorge, the Sarudi Basin and the Little Tisza, where hiking trails and nature trails have been established to explore a landscape rich in natural beauty. Here you will find a large part of the heron and cormorant colonies of Lake Tisza, as well as the famous fairy rose and fairy veil fields.

The trail can be used as an excursion to the previously inaccessible wildlife area of the lake. Information boards and bird-watching huts help you to observe the creatures.
